Following Basque separatist group ETA’s historic ceasefire, Bittori returns to her hometown demanding answers about her late husband Txato’s unresolved murder.

Bittori is visited by her son Xabier and daughter Nerea, who come bearing surprising news. Meanwhile, though their parents no longer speak, an encounter at the hospital reunites Xabier with Miren and Joxian's daughter Arantxa, providing him an opportunity to return something special from their childhood--and further piquing Miren's suspicions as a result.

Loyalties are tested as Joxe Mari's family struggles to reconcile the doting son and brother they once knew with the man behind bars for horrific acts of terrorism. In present day, Arantxa and Nerea reconnect for the first time in years.

Bittori finally receives a letter from Joxe Mari. She walked to the cemetery to tell the content of the letter to her husband, she comes to her memory the last day the family spent together in Zaragoza, unaware that tragedy awaited her return.
